Need a mattress

Welcome back!
We are in need of a new queen size mattress.
The one that we have now has one broken side in the box spring. My husband sometimes falls out of bed and then hollers. It is rather high off of the floor, so I understand.
What I do not know is if our credit card can stand the weight of a new mattress to replace the old one. Or at least a new box spring. If possible, I would rather replace both of them and just get it done and over with. Getting it home would be interesting however. Our van has room in it. The room that it has is taken with seats.
Maybe we could balance it on top of the seats?
