Freedom of speech? Not really

Welcome back!
Some students at an AMERICAN school were told they were not allowed to show their patriotism by wearing t-shirts with the American flag on it.
What about them having the freedom of speech?
I do believe that their rights were violated by some poor thought out political correctness.
