Fees, fees, fees

We have a friend that has been without a drivers license for quite a while.
Today, he investigated how to get it back. It is possible if he is willing to spend about 4,000 dollars. So much for the state of Texas. Everywhere you look, there are new fees that have to be paid if you want to live a life that is legal.
If you buy a car and do not get it tagged within 20 days of the date of the sale, you are charged extra fines (fees) that will accumulate each day into hundreds of dollars. This was put into law back in 2008. Of course, this little known law is not publisized so people could be warned about it.
