Cops Were Called

Well, we have seen a lot of things, but this one takes the cake. We have a friend that is going through some bad marriage trouble. He comes over and talks to us.
His wife’s family is rather vocal about what THEY want him to do. He does not want to. I don’t blame him. Some of the stuff is serious. Well, one of those family members decided that she wanted to give her opinion to my husband and I since were are friends with the beleaguered husband. She came and pounded on our door, I asked her who it was, she told me, I told her to “GO AWAY”. Simple right? Evidently not for her. She waited, pounded on the door, walked around in front of our apartment, and even harassed our friend when he came to our apartment for sanctuary. She was very vocal about wanting to give her opinion whether or not we wanted to hear her. I called 911. Simple.
She was still there when the cop cars showed up. I have no idea why she waited. They kept her out by their cars and interviewed her. Some of them came to our front porch and interviewed me. I stayed on home ground. I explained about the situation, and made sure they knew that she was unwanted, had been asked to leave, and was NOT a relative of anyone who lived in these apartments, or even a friend of anyone here. They said she would be told to NOT return. While interviewing her, she lied and was caught lying. The cops put her in the cop car, and did a search on her car. I didn’t even sign a formal complaint. She evidently had something in her car that they removed from the trunk. She got hauled off to jail, her car got hauled off to the impound lot. All she had to do was leave and she refused to GO AWAY.
It was not a bright idea to harass someone who you didn’t even know, especially when the person you want to harass is not even part of the problem. Who knew?
