History repeats
Welcome back!
Here we go again.
When our nation was involved in Korea, the politicians did not want to send in the number of troops that the military wanted. They sent in less that was needed. In Vietnam, this also happened. In both cases, not enough troops were sent in to do what was needed.
Now, I hear the the military wants a certain number of troops in Afghanistan. Guess what, the political arm of this country does not want to send in what the military has said that is needed. I wonder why the politicians bother to ask what the military want when it is obvious that they will not listen. The politicians are not over there. They are not familiar with what is going on. Why do they not listen to our military? It is bad enough that it became necessary for us to go there in the first place (remember 9-11?) without the politicians getting involved and messing things up. It is not their lives that are wasted when military options get messed up.
It is almost like a person being in the hospital who is sick and having a fever. The doctor wants to give the right amount of antibiotics to get the person well, and then along comes a nurses aide who decides that, no medicine is not needed, just a band-aid will do. The patient will not get any better, the band-aid will be wasted and all the effort to help the patient will go down the drain. The whole idea if inept people getting in the way with something they do not know about is very bothersome.
