Old Sayings

The previous article mentioned a penny for your thoughts. I have no idea where that comes from. I have heard of other sayings that sometimes made me snicker and laugh. How about being as nervous as a long tail cat in a room full of rockers? I can actually picture that one.
Another is something being slicker than snot. EUW ! I do not want to know how that one was figured out. I would rather figure out term life insurance comparisons without a calculator than picture the slickness of snot.
When I was in Arkansas, I also heard that something was about as useful as pissing up a rope. Who would want to do such a thing anyway?
Let’s see:
Someone has less than the brains that God gave a flea -
Air-male for a strong man who isn’t very smart -
Something being slicker than greased owl shit - add another EUWW big time for that one.
I know there must be others. Where do they all come from?
