Crazy English Language

Welcome back!

I just ran across an article that had me grunting in agreement. It was called - Crazy English .

When I read all of the sentences I could only agree. I have mentioned to some of my friends that the spoken English language can drive some crazy. There are so many words that will look the same on paper, but how it is used in a sentence makes a giant difference in its meaning. The word drive is another example. Drive a car - drive a golf ball - a cattle drive……How about the word bark. A tree covering, a sound made by a dog. Some of the world’s other languages are very specific so there should not be any misunderstanding. Learning German was a true eye opener concerning nouns, verbs, and tenses used.

If someone comes from another country and English is not their native language, yet they speak English beautifully, they are to be treasured and congratulated. After all, I was raised speaking American English, and even though am in my fifties, still have much to learn. :)
