It’s About Jesus
Welcome back!
I have my newest Christmas decoration up on the wall of the front porch.
I took a white tree skirt, tacked it up after spreading it wide open. Then I put a decorated wreath in the center of it. After that I added the letters that spell out - It’s About Jesus.
I have blinking lights that hang on the upper edge of the porch. I think it looks nice. Of course I must admit that I am trying to get out the message about what Christmas started out standing for. Its name alone means celebration of/for Jesus. I like a lot of decorations that can be seen all over town at this time of year. However, I do miss the manger scenes, the angels, the old fashioned songs about Jesus’ birth. Maybe I am old fashioned, maybe I just don’t like the idea of a fat man in a red suit sneaking into my house when I am asleep, and trying to stand in judgment over whether or not I had been good.
So, am I old fashioned? Or maybe I am just stubborn about what I believe. Go figure.
