Catalogs
Welcome back!
I know that pretty soon, people will start to think about Christmas, I mean, fall has made its appearance. One thing I remember was all of the catalogs that used to go out for people to ‘wish’ out of.
It used to be the ‘thing’ to sit, ahem, on the ‘throne’ and read the Sears and Roebuck catalog and make wishes upon what it was that was wanted. I know that later, the pages were used for something ‘else’, but that’s life. I also remember Montgomery Ward catalogs that would come out and both the S&R and the MW catalogs would be so thick that they would be hard to lift.
Now, they want you to buy the catalog in order to look at what they have. The catalogs are thin without all of the offerings that used to be in there. Now they are made of thick, slick paper with colored ink on them, and sometimes they are hard to find. I know that not everything is done over the internet these days, but I do miss those wonderful wish books.
What catalogs do you remember?
