Candles

I love candles. All types of candles. Especially if they have a scent to them.
There are so many different types of candles that some stores are dedicated only to the selling and displaying of candles. Votive candle holders are one way to display and burn candles. I have seen different ways to make them, too. They can be poured into different shapes and sizes of molds, they can be dipped. When they are dipped, different colors can be layered to make them each unique. I love candles. Since I use oxygen to sleep at night, I am told that I have to avoid any open flames in my home because the oxygen gets into the bed clothes and the wood work, etc. However, scented candles can still be set around your house even if you never light them and they will still give your home a good aroma. I just love candles.
I remember when some candles were made in milk cartons. The center would be just one long taper, then crushed ice would be poured around it. While the carton and ice were still extremely cold, hot melted wax would be poured into the open milk carton around and through the ice. It would be put into the refrigerator and when the wax was set, the carton would be peeled away and the resulting candle would have such an unusual texture after all of the melted ice was poured out.
Let’s face it, I love candles.
