Motels
Welcome back!
Once had to make a trip to South Texas for my husband to go to the Hospital there. The trip down was long and tiring. When we got there we had finally found a motel that had a room available. Now, Galveston is right on the Texas coast and they had recently had a hurricane, don’t remember which one.
We needed a room with two double beds and of course, air conditioning, since it was hot outside. What we got was a room that smelled so intensely of mildew that we could not stay there for even a few minutes. The air conditioner did not work except to puff out hot air. We went back to the manager’s office and explained the problem, we got another room that had no problems. The manager explained that the hurricane had flooded some rooms, he had thought that the first one was ready, but it wasn’t. I just read an article about someone else’s stay in a motel room that sounds like it was a nightmare. That manager didn’t give a flying flip about the customers, even when he knew that one was sick. Shame on him. Beware of the motel from hell.
