National Anthem
Welcome back!
Do Americans remember the story of the National Anthem any more?
Do the history books in school tell the accurate story or have they all been rewritten by the ‘revisionists’?
The world today is filled with stories of conflicts all over it. People are fighting to be free, or they are fighting to live. Where we live, we have amazing freedoms. Others are not so fortunate. We can talk freely (in spite of the politically correct police). We can communicate over the internet. We can call someone and tell them how we feel.
The ‘politically correct’ police would try to tell you what to say and how to say it. Phooey !! I have a mind and will not waste it with what THEY think should be said or thought. Have you heard of the old saying - A rose by any other name is still a rose? Well, being politically correct is stupid. Trying to avoid offending everyone at the same time DOES NOT WORK. Sooner or later , the PC police will announce that our National Anthem is not PC, and it should not be sung. It is HISTORY, it happened, it is fact.
Changing things for the sake of appearance only leaves a bitter poison underneath that ruins everything. Facts are there, opinions change. Truth is not an ephemeral thing to be sought, truth is just there laying in wait to be discovered, all we have to do is look.
Our National Anthem is history. It happened. If the other side had won, our country would not be the same, the Anthem would just be a song. As for our flag, that is another story.
